So, basically two things of note:
- Editing of Charge of the Lyte Brigade is ongoing. I see no reason why it won’t be ready before the end of the month.
- Slightly sooner than that, I’ll be ready to start posting chapters from The Bandits of Goldharbour right here, on realmgard.com —
— which means the updated, improved version of the book itself will become available on Amazon and Smashwords.
Which that in mind, I’ve got a couple preliminary sketches to share, both as I prepare the cover art for Charge and the new version of Bandits, and because I bought some new sketching pencils.
This is just a quick sketch of Kat, though I do like how her eyes turned out. Basically I drew this one with minimal forethought and effort just to get the hang of using non-photo blue pencils. Mostly a success, by the way.
And this is a new gryphon that is somehow going to be used for the new Bandits of Goldharbour colour, based largely on my most recent other gryphon. Again, I tried experimenting with non-photo blue sketches and was mostly happy with the result.
I think my biggest problem is that I’m not going over the blue with a dark enough colour for the final line art.
And, of course, my Bandits of Goldharbour from yesterday. Trying to get Alison in that pose has been killing me and has taken me about four attempts to this point. Clearly, I finally got it right, because she turned out as one of the best character drawings I’ve never done.
Incidentally, her armour is based on how I remembered Severa from Fire Emblem Awakening looking like. But it’s clearly been a while since I’ve played awakening, because it turns out it’s nothing like what Severa actually looks like…
