RealmgART: A Brand New Flag of Goldharbour

There aren’t many white-and-yellow flags in real life. Looking at the original Goldharbour flag, the reason should be obvious…

The flag of Goldharbour. Two white and yellow gryphons facing each other beneath a laurel wreath with the letters "GH" and the letters "C.L.M" above the laurels.

In anticipation of the imminent (i.e. next couple weeks) re-release of The Bandits of Goldharbour, here’s a new version of the Goldharbour flag.

Some part of that flag (probably the gryphons) is going to be re-purposed for the new cover art.

Basically, this one features better drawings and a colour scheme with more contrast.

There aren’t many white-and-yellow flags in real life (with a couple of notable — and deliberate — exceptions). Looking at the original Goldharbour flag, the reason should be obvious:

The old flag of Goldharbour, white on yellow. Two gryphons facing each other with a laurel wreath containing the letter G and smaller letters reading L.M.V.

Basically, it’s hard to see white on yellow or yellow on white. In fact, putting them together violates the rules of heraldry.

In addition to being drawn by a better, more experienced artist, the fact that everything on the new flag has an outline just generally makes the whole thing easier on the eye.
