I’ve been working on The Alchemist of Middlesbrooke pretty steadily lately, and I’ve just wrapped up the first draft yesterday — or possibly very early today…
Now, this is a milestone, but it’s probably also the least important milestone. There is no such thing as a good first draft and I’ve already noticed more than a few things that need to be fixed.
On the other hand, writing an ending is hard, and even just hastily banging out barely more than “And than everything was nicely wrapped up, The End” actually really improved my state of mind viewing The Alchemist of Middlesbrooke as project.
It’ll still be a while before it’s anywhere near ready, but it’s definitely moving along.
