We’re about halfway through Forward, the Lyte Brigade, so here’s all the chapters so far so you can catch up on anything you may have missed.
For sixty-three years, the Lyte Brigade was — in the opinion of many — the very finest adventuring guild operating out of the Free Mercantile City of Porthaven, winning a total of eighty-two awards from the Guild Authority of Porthaven.
In Matilda’s own humble opinion, she is too smart, too pretty, and too talented to be stuck scrubbing greasy dishes just because it’s the family business. Besides, it’s called the Lyte Brigade; doesn’t that mean adventuring is supposed to be the family business?
“I know how much this whole thing means to you, and what kind of big sister would I be if I didn’t offer to help you, my dear, sweet little brother, so magnanimously and selflessly out of the sheer goodness of my heart?”
“My mind is made up. Just think of what being able to count a Valda as one of its members will do for the Lyte Brigade’s reputation!
“What is happening over there? I think the bust of Cousin Eleutherius is about to fall off its plinth!”
“We’ve got enough members now and I’ve submitted everything to the Guild Authority. We just need to wait to get their approval before the Lyte Brigade is officially reinstated.”
