Now, I’ve probably made it abundantly clear by this point that I am Canadian— also, incidentally, the name and premise of a popular ad campaign for Molson at the Turn of the Millennium, as explained briefly by the CBC here.

However, most of my views lately and the vast majority of my social media followers are American, so I would be remiss not to be wishing my American readers a very happy Independence Day.

So, with that in mind:

Happy Independence Day to all my American readers.

And a happy Any of the Following to everyone else: anniversary of the foundation of Trois-Rivières, Quebec, Feast Day of Elizabeth of Portugal, and birthday of British surveyor and geographer (and mountain namesake) George Everest.
