Realmgard Hiatus & Reset

Less ominous than it sounds, I promise.

So, since September, I’ve been in the process of starting up my new business, Emona Literary ServicesTM. In the long run, this going to be good for Realmgard, since it’s going to help me consolidate and streamline a lot of my Realmgard-related publishing.

Short term, though, it’s going to mean I need to slow down my Realmgard output as getting the early stages of my business sorted out and set up. With Emona dominating my time and energy, I’ve fallen behind on writing and publishing new stories — part of the reason I did my November Space-Realmgard Writing Exercise was to have a solid foundation to build up in a new story in the near future.

For now, new Realmgard content is going on hiatus. That sounds bad, but really just means there won’t be any new stories until I have them written and ready to post. The silver lining here is that I’m well on the way to revising and rewriting improved versions of the first three Realmgard stories to get them more in line stylistically and conceptually with Realmgard as it has emerged since those early days.

However, as of this Friday, following Captain Goblinbeard being wrapped up, I’ll be posting every chapter I have so far, one chapter per day. I think that will take me to February or March and, ideally by then, I’ll have new stuff ready to go so I can get to my usual new chapter every Friday schedule.

I’m also going to be stopping posting my Recommendations, Music to Write Realmgard to, and Encyclopedia Realmgardica posts until the New Year. I’ve lost track of how I’ve been scheduling those and, at this point, it’s going to be easier just to reset and start back from the beginning come January 1.

Also, I’ll be spending December counting down my top posts of 2024. Again, new story content is winding down for now, but I’m not going on a complete hiatus, so there will be something going live every day for the foreseeable future.

I’ll have more news as the sorting-out of Emona Literary means new and better things for Realmgard, so stay tuned. In the meantime, my Emona Literary ServicesTM links are here.
