WIP: The Fish-sters Darkstone — Dunstana, Part 1

A handy trick for getting proportion right: Whereas Kat is smaller than the observable universe and bigger than Dunstana, Dunstana is bigger than a breadbox.

A work-in-progress of Dunstana fishing off a dock.

Not quite done, but here’s the broad strokes of fishing Dunstana.

Though I think she’s either too small, or Kat is too big. Again, proportion isn’t something I’ve quite figured out. Well, beyond, “Kat is smaller than the observable universe (incidentally), but bigger than Dunstana, and Dunstana is bigger than a breadbox“…

I don’t think this is the first time I’ve drawn her wearing green, but I do try to give her a new colour scheme every time I draw her. I’m working under the assumption she has more than one coat…

On the one hand, the smiling-so-much-her-eyes-are-closed expression fits a lot better on Dunstana than Kat, on the other, I’m still going to try her with open eyes. Notably, she’s currently missing her freckles.

Also notably, I hate drawing that hat from most angles. I can’t quite figure out how to do the corners.

Also, hands.

Hands, man.

Hands.

Several people stacking hands.
This is what I see in my nightmares…
