So, like I’ve explained several times now, I’m aiming to do a month-long writing exercise — basically write 500 words of something a day — once a quarter. And, welp, it’s about time for another month of writing exercises.
The majority of these months have been a short narrative scene. I changed things up in May and November 2022 by focusing more on Worldbuilding with a month of Encyclopedia Realmgardicas and write-ups on the history of Realmgard.
Starting tomorrow (i.e. June 1), I’m going to do another Worldbuilding Exercise by focusing on various mythological figures and events. I think that’s something of a gap in my Worldbuilding and I anticipate that fleshing it out will help me with my writing going forward.
Incidentally, it’s hard to find a picture of “Mythology“, which is kinda of an abstract, or at least broad, concept. On the one hand, Greek mythology is fairly recogniseable. On the other, that means it’s maybe a little played-out as a Western cultural touchstone.
So, I decided to go with a slightly (if only just) less-represented mythology and use a picture of Thor. Specifically, Swedish painter’s Mårten Eskil Winge‘s Thor Fight with the Giants:

So, anyway, look forward to it. And follow me here:
