Turbosharks

The Turboshark is known to be the fastest and most voracious species of shark in the oceans of Terrace. The Turboshark name derives from the old Elven word for “whirlwind.”
Although indeed capable predators, Turbosharks are not particularly dangerous to Humans. Turbosharks attacks on Humans are known to occur. However, these attacks are largely the result of mistaken identity. Turbosharks are not known to actively hunt Humans and what attacks on Humans do occur arise from Humans in the water being mistaken by the sharks as something else. Once the shark discovers a Human is not its typical prey, it will move on.
While being bitten by a Turboshark is, of course, not a pleasant experience, because Turbosharks are small relative to most other species of shark, Turboshark attacks do not usually cause grievous injury and most recorded Turboshark attacks have not been fatal.
Nevertheless, Turbosharks are voracious and effective hunters of their usual prey: bony fish, seals, and whales, due in large part to their phenomenal swimming speed.
So, the inspiration for this one was how Fantasy tend to add adjectives and/or prefixes to real animals to make them sound more impressive and Fantasy-y, e.g. Dire Wolves (which, incidentally, were a real species, though not really all that much like Fantasy Dire Wolves).
Basically, “Turboshark” was a deliberately preposterous name in that approach, but I ended up loving just how preposterous it was and ending up really lean into it.
