Hailing from a branch of the noble Valdi family with settled in the inland territories of the Free Mercantile City of Porthaven, Egeria Sagittaria Valda is the only child of her parents Ammianus and Juliana, two of the wealthiest landowners in the region.

Despite a fairly rustic upbringing, the young Egeria displayed a knack of learning and a deep intellect, leading to her studying Philosophy both independently and under the tutelage of several prominent teachers, with the goal of publishing her own Philosophical treatise one day.

Most of Egeria’s time, however, is devoted to helping her parents manage the family’s extensive agricultural holdings, as well as aiding the neighbouring farms when necessary. Her experiences with farming have left Egeria with a deep but largely inexplicable fondness for potatoes — “taters”, as she often calls them when utilising her natural accent and mannerisms.

Although her branch of the Valdi family is largely rural and regarded as rustic and simple by the rest of the family, Egeria nevertheless prides herself on always displaying the proper poise and etiquette befitting a Valda.
