I recently wrapped up another batch of month-long of Realmgard Short Scenes (plus a bonus for Canada Day).

Here are the full results of a June full of writing (plus a bonus for Canada Day).

But, seriously, that was one of the pictures that came up when I searched “June” and it does appear to be a Beetle


Week 1

June 1: Dunstana Goes a-Viking

June 3: Lucia vs. Fine Dining

“Greetings,” he says, looking down a thoroughly upturned nose. “I have the pleasure of being your server tonight.”

His tone, however, indicates that he sees it as anybody but a pleasure.

June 4: Studying the Blade

“Neeeeeeeeerd,” Dunstana calls at him.

June 5: Tancred is the funnest one to bite

“Here’s a cookie, Miss Sally,” he offers. “Could you perhaps bite it instead?”

“And why is it Hal…pert Circle-Guy’s day today?” she asks.

June 7: Kat, Dunstana & Skadi vs. the Pirates of the Piratesburg

“What’s going on in there?” a pirate asks from the other side of the locked and barred door, desperately tugging at the door knob.

“Oh, uh.” Kat stammer, leaning her full weight against the door to keep it closed. “Yeah, we’d love to want to help you…”

Week 2

June 8: Wake Me Up Before You Go-Golem

“Friend?” the huge, vaguely-human shaped metal construct asks in a booming voice.

“Yeah, I’ll be your friend!” Dunstana says eagerly.

“Friend,” the metal thing agrees.

“Well, there’s your problem,” Plaid Jack Rackman says, pointing towards the landscape of the infamous island of Mors Dira. “The mountain is exploding.”

“Lookin’ good, Earl,” Dunstana says, peering up at his shiny new wooden ear as she sets the quiche down on the table. “Is that mahogany?”

June 11: A Little Light Breakfast Conversation With Amara and Egeria

“Aw, strawberry preserves,” Egeria says, vainly fishing around the nearly-empty jar with her knife. “Why’d you go and do this to me? I thought we was friends.”

“What are you doing?” she cries, holding on for dear life.

Kat and Dunstana stand before the Battle of Battle Field Battlefield Memorial Monument Memorial Field, laid out several years ago the commemorate the monument previously raised to commemorate the battle of Battle Field and subsequently lost to a particularly fierce windstorm.

“As I understand it,” Tenebella says. “I believe this is the point where we eat ice cream, paint each other’s nails, and talk about the boys we like.”

“Boys are gross,” Kat scoffs.

“And,” Tenebella continues. “If there’s time, we can commune with the uncanny gods of the Sublunar Realm.”

“Excuse me?” Amara asks with a raised eyebrow.

“Eat ice cream?” Tenebella says, her eyes shifting uneasily from side to side.

June 30: A Meeting of the Prominent Fictioneers of Porthaven. And also Kat…

“Right,” Lucia says, huddling up with the others. “Somebody needs to keep Apolline distracted, while the rest of us — Oh.”

“Why are you keeping me distracted?” the Auroean sorceress asks, her head quizzically tilted.

“We wanted to back you a cake,” Alda admits. “You know, for Victory Day.”
