Inspired by my family’s recent trip to Newfoundland, particularly to powerful and enlightening display about the Royal Newfoundland Regiment at the provincial museum known as the Rooms, I went a bit off-list to put together a post about Great Big Sea’s Recruiting Sergeant, a song commemorating the valour and loss of the Regiment in World War I.
