The descendants of wizards who experimented with shape-changing magic in previous generations, the Wilderlings of Realmgard have been so affected by their ancestors' magic that they retain features of various animals and the ability to freely shift between human and animal forms.
While not located at the exact geographic centre of Realmgard, the forest known as the Midwood is fairly close to the exact middle of the continent, as well as being located more or less equally from Realmgard's north and south extreme points. Thus, the Midwood is so named for its location in the middle of Realmgard.

Son of a pirate, brother of a pirate, and probable descendant of a pirate and a mermaid, Jonas Darkstone decided to go his own way in life, breaking with the Darkstone tradition of piracy and pursuing an academic career instead.
Upon its completion, the Hammer was one of the largest ships ever seen in Realmgard, with seven decks, six sails, a complement of 146 guns and elaborate ornamentation. It also promptly proved itself one of the least seaworthy.

King Caelin now looms large in Realmgardian literary as the paragon of chivalrous virtue.
Notably, there is a green star visible in the night skies of Terrace. In fact, that this green star is visible from any point of Terrace and does not seem to move across the sky like the other stars has led to the recognition that it is clearly of supernatural origin, inevitably leading to its association with divinity.
