Following the wrapping up of my June Short Scenes, I’m now back at the point of deciding what to do in regards to this blog going forward.
The good news is that I’m not going to make any changes that are as drastic as I was initially considering. At most, I’m going to change what the frontpage of my website is, but I’m not going to completely purge my old posts.
I’ve realised that some of my old posts — particularly the ones about Azumanga Daioh and for some reason, the Kontakion of the Mother of God are still my best-performing posts and a lot of those old posts are generating some useful metadata, so as much as some of my old posts don’t accurately represent how I’m envision the goal of this site anymore, I’m not going to get rid of them.
What is going to change going forward is that this website is going to be focused more purely on the in-universe Realmgard stuff like my Short Scenes and the Encyclopedia Realmgardica, both of which I’m in the process of gradually updating.
The more bloggy stuff — my Recommendations and Music posts, for exmaple — is going to be getting posted on my Substack going forward. Similarly, my Patreon is where all my stories are going to be getting published first. They’ll go live here eventually, but new audio and written content will be available to my subscribers before anyone else, so please consider subscribing — or even just following, I do post a lot of free stuff on there. In fact, right now, everything on there is free…
Incidentally, although I’m redoing the first three Realmgard stories, the original versions are going to remain available to read here indefinitely.
I’ve mentioned several times now that I’ve got an audiobook version of Fryte’s Gold. I’ll be posting a preview chapter of that basically everywhere once it’s available, but the full version will be coming to my Patreon subscribers first.
The best thing you can do right now is follow my other socials, which can be easily found on my Linktree. Ideally, I’d like to hit at least 100 on everything and I’m planning to make a pretty significant announcement once I get there.
My posting schedule here is probably still going to be slower than it has been in the past, but I’ll try to post at least a few times a week, even if it’s just “The full thing is on my Substack.”
