“Be very, very quiet. We’re hunting that badger Wilderling.” Eldred Forth tells the smugglers who have hired him to drive off the badger-woman who’s been stalking their illegal excavation of a late Realmgardic-era ruin. “She’ll have bad eyesight, but she has the ears like the eyes of a hawk and the nose of, well, a badger.”
He pats his crossbow.
“Luckily, our superior Gardian brains ensure that we will—”
A furry, growling blur leaps from the underbrush at Eldred.
“Oh, sweet Powers! My face!” the hunter cries, his crossbow clattering to the ground as he’s dragged down by the person-sized badger. “Arrrgh!”
“Oh, Look. There she is…” one of the smugglers says.
