The field of archaeology, as Dunstana understands it, involves digging around in ancient ruins, or lost cities, or haunted mines, or other places that haven’t had people in them for hundreds and hundreds of years.
Whenever she and Dunstana get back from an adventure, Dunstana always looks forward to telling her best friend about it. And not just because there’s usually cookies.

“Thanks for coming with me. I don’t think I could’ve done this by myself.”
“Why would you want to drop me down a chasm? Why would you make a Dragon try to eat us? And why was your password password?”
“There is yet one more battle to be fought,” he announces. He raises his sword in salute, before pointing it towards Kat. “Prepare yourself, my lady.”
The entire room shakes. The room shakes again. And again. It sounds and feels like the footfalls of some huge monster.
There’s almost certainly something magical afoot. Kat starts to feel nervous at the thought. In her experience, inexplicably magical rooms tend to be a Bad Thing.
Kat sighs wearily. Why does Captain Fryte hate her? Why do all his doors need to be locked, barred, and surrounded by traps?
“I think I’ve figured out where we are.”
