“Hey!” Roland exclaims happily. “We seek him, too. The Baron of Lunenfeld Fields says he’s scaring all the peasants and eating all the sheep.”
He frowns thoughtfully.
“Or is he eating the peasants and scaring the sheep. I knew should have paid more attention.”
“Let’s go together!” Lucia says, eagerly springing to her feet.
Work has been slow lately. But even without that, the stranger in the black armour is the kind of hunk that Lucia would love to spend as much time as possible with. The swordsman has the smoothest, snow-whitest skin, the longest most luscious hair, and the deepest, limpidest eyes she has ever seen. Time is sort of slowing down when she looks at him.
