Unlike Smash Bros. – a lot of people are getting splashed with water. Though, I guess that is kinda-sorta what Mario’s down-B move is…

“Don’t worry,” Vera tells the others. “I have a plan.”
She snatches up a glass of water.
“Stop doing that!” Prima cries, watching as her sister
She’s done this more times than Prima can believe or count. For some reason, Vera is convinced that all she needs to do when they’re being chased by bandits, or pirates, or an evil cult, or a stray dog, is splash it water.
It never does anything.
And this time, of course, is no exception…
Sure, the mercenaries are sort of wet now, but they didn’t even flinch as they got splashed.
The band of angry mercenaries stalks forwards towards Prima, Vera, and the Lyte Brigade.
“Why was there a glass of water here in the first place?” Pela mutters.
“We can ponder it later,” Tancred offers. “Once we’ve escaped from the mercenaries chasing us.”
“We didn’t even do anything!” Matilda protests.
“Sally beat their Captain at chess,” Nolan says. “He didn’t like that. He accused her of cheating. She didn’t like that, so she bit him and then hid behind Tancred.”
“And I didn’t really like that,” Tancred notes. “And things sort of escalated from there – in fact, I do believe I saw your mother cram one of the mercenaries’ heads up a cooked goose. And, well, here we are…”
“Go,” Falcata tells the other. “I’ll take the rearguard.”
The towering, muscular Amazon warrior strides forward. Unlike Vera’s water, this does actually make the mercenaries balk a little
As the Lyte Brigade dashes down the alley, Prima grabs her sister by the arm and follows them down the alley.
They dodge and weave their way through the alleys of Porthaven’s Dock District. And they come face to face with a column of armed mercenaries.
“Oh, man,” Matilda groans. “How did they get behind us?”
Nolan blinks in surprise. “That’s not them. Wait, is that—”
“Katherine?” Amara gasps breathlessly. “What are you doing here?”
As the Lyte Brigade blinks in surprise, the group sent out by Boss Virrad to quash the less well-mannered mercenaries making a mess of the Dock District, led by Kat and a tall Hrimfaxi woman with red hair, blink back.
“Hey, Kat!” Prima says.
“Hey,” Kat replies with a nod.
She turns to Amara.
“You, uh, you haven’t seen a marauding band of mercenaries stomping all over the Dock District, have you?” Kat asks. “Boss Virrad wants us to—”
Kat looks past Amara towards the column of mercenaries coming down the alley.
“Never mind…” Kat mutters.
She reaches for her bow.
“Right. Get behind us. We’ve got this.”
“I have just the plan,” the tall red-haired woman beside Kat says.
“Splash them with water?” Vera asks hopefully, reaching for another glass of water that has seemingly manifested itself out of nowhere.
Kat winces.
“Look! There’s another one!” Pela gasps in amazement.
“Don’t you dare!” Prima hisses, slapping her sister’s hand away.
“Skadi,” she mutters. “Just don’t.”
The tall woman hefts her axes, takes a deep breath and runs headlong at the enemy with a sound like:
BWAAAAAAAAARGH!
