Last week, I completed one full year of Realmgard Short Scenes over on the Emona Literary Services™ Patreon page. I have no intentions to stop posting a new exclusive scene for my subscribers each and every Friday.
This week, Ms. Dunstana goes to Porthaven.
It is the role of the courts of Porthaven, Dunstana Darkstone understands in a sudden flash of insight, to tie people up, sit them down in front of a judge, and then have the fine burghers of Porthaven line up and tell the judge why those people are jerks.
Or something…
And because the person who’s been tied up and sat down in front of a judge is Jehan-Picard Souricier, the least popular pirate in Realmgard, it’s been really easy to talk to the court about what a jerk he is.
“Now, Miss Darkstone,” the persecutor begins, looking at Dunstana as she stands in the witness box.”
“It’s Captain,” Dunstana notes.
The persecutor nods. “Now, Miss Captain—”
“Close enough,” Dunstana mutters.
“—why don’t you tell us what you found that morning?”
