“Behold, Porthaven!” he bellows. “The advent of the Tyrant of the Sea is at hand! It is I, Aurochs Alderbaran has come to conquer. For, ye lowly of Porthaven, this day that Aurochs Alderbaran deigned to show his countenance upon thee shall be the greatest of your lowly little lives. But for me…”
He falters and his voice trails off.
He glances over at his majordomo.
“Screench, what day is it?”
“Tuesday, Your Malignancy,” the wizened Goblin answers.
The Tyrant of the Sea turns back to the dockmaster and unfurls himself back to his full imposing height.
“You shall ponder this day, ten years hence, fifty years hence! And that great and terrible realisation shall fall upon you a thunderbolt: the day the Tyrant of Sea deigned to conquer your feeble city shall be a day of utter and singular consequence unto thee,” he says again. “But for me, it will have been Tuesday!”
