Brorvonius first appears in the historical record named among the contributors to a manual on the prudent use of fire-based magic. The original manuscript was, ironically, lost in a fire.

The 49th Grandmaster of the knightly order properly known as the Free and Sovereign Fellow-Soldiers of the Wolf on Mount Lykos and commonly referred to as the Wolf Knights, Edvard Stern was born into a well-connected family active at the Ducal court of Middlesbrooke and received a comprehensive education in both the arts and military matters.

Due to its geographical separation from the Realmgardian mainland and the historical legacy of the Hrimfaxi as barbarian marauders, Hrimfax is often considered backwards and uncivilised compared to the rest of Realmgard. Its reigning King, Sigurd IV, has been working to combat this reputation and more closely tie his kingdom to the rest of the continent.

His reputation as a tragedian whose works inevitably end with everyone dying is somewhat unfair — he has also written several comedies where everyone dies.
