The Powers
At their most basic, the Powers are understood by the philosophers and magicologists of Realmgard to be the underlying reality of the cosmos. Simply put, the Powers are the essence of worldly things. However, interpretations vary from that starting point.
The Distant Verdant Star
Notably, there is a green star visible in the night skies of Terrace. In fact, that this green star is visible from any point of Terrace and does not seem to move across the sky like the other stars has led to the recognition that it is clearly of supernatural origin.
The Continent of Realmgard
In general, for geographic and cartographic purposes, Realmgard is viewed as being the “middle” of the world of Terrace — due in part to the existence of other continents to Realmgard’s east and south.
The World of Terrace
The origins of the name are the subject of some debate. The most common, though by no means universal, explanation is that 'Terrace' is likely a corruption of the Elven 'Terra est', meaning 'it is the world.'
