Over on Substack, I’ve just finished posting about Rune Soldier — which I’ve repeatedly pithced as ‘Lodoss War‘s dumber little brother.’
Fundamentally, of all the things I’ve recommended so far, Rune Soldier is probably the most directly influential works on the current state of Realmgard.
In many ways, The Alchemist of Middlesbrooke owes a clear debt to Rune Soldier and its “Three–Female–Adventurers-and-an-Idiot” format.
